While I was on the East coast, I went up to PA for a weekend get-together with a bunch of my friends. We had a blast, and I got to meet lots of my friends fron chat and HSA that I had never met before. ^_^ While we were there, Kayla, served us Oreo Truffles. Let me tell you, they were about the most amazing thing I had ever had. Good thing she made plenty, cuz everyone kept going back for more π
Anywhoo, I’ve been meaning to make them myself sometime, as Kayla has sent me a link to the recipe. So I finally made them last week for a lunch at my church….

I made two batches, one with low-fat cream cheese, and one with regular cream cheese. There was a *wee* bit of a consistency difference, but not enough to be a nuisance, and there was no taste difference. Mom had the brilliant idea of using dark, baking chocolate. I did half in the regular chocolate, and half in the dark chocolate.

melting the semi-sweet baking chocolate (I couldn’t get lighting I liked for this picture, sorry it looks so bad)
melting the dark chocolate… It was amazing, and it was much easier to dip the oreo balls into.
dipping in the chocolate…
And sadly, I didn’t get any pictures of the finished product. But just trust me, they looked *really* good ^_^ they disappeared *ver* quickly at the church lunch. ^_^
